Republican Opposition to Everything- [Strong Dems]

April 2nd, 2010

RESPONSE:

This is Republican political road rage.

They view America’s streets as theirs alone, and don’t accept anyone else’s right to drive on them.

What the Republicans cannot handle is that they fundamentally disagree with ANYONE else’s right to govern.

FOLLOW-UP:

As parents, we call this throwing a temper tantrum. The GOP has been in power for so long that they refuse to understand that being the minority party means you don’t get your way all of the time.

Republicans were voted out of power because the American people overwhelmingly rejected their failed policies. Their answer to that rejection… anyone who disagrees with us is an anti-American, Socialist, Marxist, Communist, anti-Christ who wants to bring Armageddon.

Let’s be very clear here. The Republican party is NOT interested in a debate on how to make America work better. They are only interested in being a schoolyard bully to the American people.

UNCOVERS:

Republican opposition is not based on an honest disagreement, or position on policy, it is solely because they view their position as the ONLY position, and any other is framed as fundamentally destructive.

This attitude is childish and does not serve the interests of our nation.

Protectionism- [StrongDems]

March 9th, 2010

RESPONSE:

Why don’t Republicans want to Protect JOBS and the American workforce?

We hear this all of the time, from CON-servatives.  Would it help to underline the PROTECT in the word?  Would that help you out?

FOLLOW-UP:

Look, tariffs and worker protection have been a part of our Government policies since 1789, until Ronald Reagan blew them up in the 80′s.  How has American manufacturing been doing since then?

UNCOVERS:

Protectionism (i.e. tariffs, trade policies, worker safety, support) helps the middle-class.  Every other country employs Protectionism in one shape or another.  Conservatives (both Republicans and Democrats) have sold out to international industry.  It’s time to bring it back home.

SIDE POINTS:

  • Importing cheap crap from other countries
  • Security breach- software/chips for missiles and jets not made in the USA
  • Deficits go up
  • Slave Labor
  • Corrosive chemicals, like lead and cadmium, in kids toys
  • Environmental disasters
  • What happens when we disagree with their government?
  • Giving money to Communist Dictatorships
  • Bring Jobs back home
  • Real Jobs for Real Americans
  • Protectionism is what made Toyota (Japanese government subsidizes, and employs a high import tax for non-Japanese cars)
