Financial Regulation and Government Oversight- [Strong Dems]

April 19th, 2010

RESPONSE:

The days of ‘Wall Street gone wild’ are over.

We HAD 8 years of high-risk, low taxes on the rich, and small Government regulation…

How did that work out for you, America?

FOLLOW-UP:

I think the Republicans are becoming the Financial Lobotomy Party.

After President Obama was elected, the GOP willfully forgot everything their ideology had created.

The Republican approach to this financial crisis is: Less Protection, More Fraud.

The Democratic approach to this financial crisis is: More Protection, Less Fat.

UNCOVERS:

Why listen to the failed arguments that have been a proven failure?

Being sore losers, and good friends to Financial Lobbyists, isn’t going to help the economy for the middle-class.

Citizens United Supreme Court Decision- [StrongDems]

March 14th, 2010

RESPONSE:

Under this activist, conservative Supreme Court, Citibank, Citgo, and Toyota have the same rights as you do!   Can you believe that?

FOLLOW-UP:

Businesses SHOULD NOT have the same rights as citizens.  The likely result of this decision is the complete sale of our Government (even more than it is now) to Corporations, Special Interest Groups, and Lobbyists.

The terrible Dread Scott decision, in 1857, said that people were property. This Citizens United decision says that property are people.

These corporations and special interest groups are not human beings, they can be owned by foreign governments, don’t get sick, and don’t die.

Corporations are artificial creations by government.  They operate by the rules that ‘We The People’ decide, not the other way around.

The American people should be up in arms over this decision.

UNCOVERS:

People over company.  We are a Government of the people.  The concept of ‘Activist court decision’ and ’Conservative’ should be emphasized.

Government Takeover of Health Care- [StrongDems]

March 4th, 2010

Response (cash-motive):

Perhaps the Republicans could spend more time reading what’s in the bill, and less time counting the piles of cash the profit-driven Insurance Lobbyists have given them to kill real reform for all Americans.

Response (profit-motive):

We can debate the merits of Government taking away the profit-motive from these Insurance Corporations, like almost every other country has, but this bill doesn’t do that at all.

Follow-up:

Nothing in this bill allows Government to takeover Insurance Corporations, and the Republicans know that.

Big Tent Party- [StrongDems]

March 4th, 2010

Response:

Republicans have a tent because they move frequently and they have no foundation.

Follow-up:

Democrats have built Brick Houses, but we need to stop renting out rooms to Lobbyist drifters.
